Looking Forward, Looking Back

This morning while having some play time with Gav in his room, I pulled down the box of little baby clothes - you know, all the newborn and 0-3 month stuff. It was a lot of fun to look back at all of my favorite little outfits that Gavrel wore. It's pretty hard to believe that my Monster Monkey Man, who has feet the size of a 3-4 year old, was once that little!

It was also fun to think about putting the next little one in everything. Most of our clothes in those sizes are gender neutral, so I will use them as long as I possibly can! I have a few specific things too, in both boy and girl colors.

But there was one sweet little sleeper that made me tear up:

It's a little terrycloth newborn-sized footy sleeper. I don't even love it because it says "I love Mommy." I was always way more into the "Daddy" clothes than the mommy ones. No, it's something else. Maybe it's because it's just so soft. Maybe it's because it fit Gavrel exactly perfectly for the first three weeks of his life. Maybe it's because it has footies and Gav couldn't sleep with cold feet when he was little. I don't really even know - but it was one of my favorites. I cried a little when I pulled it out.

I asked Gavrel, "Do you think your baby will like these little jammers?" He nodded his head and said, "Uh huh." If nothing else, I'm sure I will love our baby in these little jammers!
