Just when I needed it

Over the weekend, I needed some Jesus time. I was re-reading through a book of essays called  A Woman and Her God , and came across this paragraph in the introduction:

God knows each of you and cares for you just as He cared about Mary. He knows your name; you belong to Him (Isaiah 43:1). No matter who you are or what kind of baggage you carry with you, no matter what you look like or feel like, no matter what you do or don't do, God loves you just as you are right now. You don't have to get your act together, lose ten pounds, run a marathon, write a best-selling book, or raise perfect children. You are an extraordinary woman in his sight right now. (p. viii)
I needed that. I was feeling worn down by lots of little things - nothing big in particular, just a little weary. It was timely to be reminded that God is constant and not conditional. And I know there are some of you out there who need to hear it too. So be encouraged - your worth is not based on your performance. You are loved.
