Kanpai

With the beginning of my month having been a blur, it's seems completely surreal that my birthday is only days away. I don't know where the last month has gone.

Tonight, some of the sweet youth leaders from church took me out to dinner for my birthday. We to a restaurant called Kanpai, which is one of those Japanese grills where they make the food in front of you and it's all a big show. Our chef, Jose (yes, we had a hispanic chef at a Japanese restaurant), was FAB-U-LOUS! Definitely a great experience! I even got a cute pair of pink chopsticks as a gift in a little wooden display box. :-)

I think this is the first time I've had a birthday cake made of a heart-shaped pile of fried rice:

Shannon gave the egg tossing trick a try (it was short-lived - she cracked it):

And then we went to Shannon's house and watched a couple of chick-flicks. She has the sweetest little Italian greyhounds who love to snuggle:

But when we got home, I had my very own sweet baby boy waiting for me to come to bed:

Overall, not a bad way to spend an evening. Thanks ladies!
